Fast Electric racing

All club level racing is for six cell boats. We race 2 classes - Formula 3 and R2R (Ready to Run) boats to the SWAMBC rules.

Racing takes place at the Apex Lake on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer months.

On two Sundays during the summer we also host two rounds for the SWAMBC Fast Electric Championships when as many as 40 boats will race in 6 different classes.

The R2R class is by far the most popular with a real mixture of hulls such as the Shockwave, Crackerboxe and Jet Arrow. All these ready to run boats cost less than £100 (excluding batteries and radio control) on-the-water.

So if you fancy some high speed racing - then this is the section for you! The racing is fast and furious, with the result that each race is not decided until the five minutes are up.
